Sunday, August 28th saw Susan and Mattias fly to Burlington, Vermont to meet with members of Vermont Stands Up (VSU), and a special end-of-the-day dinner surprise.
“Vermont’s state motto is ‘Freedom and Unity,’” explained Dr. Rob Williams, who helped organize Mattias’ visit, and will be teaching a six-week Freedom Travel Academy online course exploring Mattias’ book this fall. (LINK TO COURSE HERE) “During the past two-plus years, we’ve seen a whole lot of unity in Vermont, but not much freedom,” Williams observed. “Our hope is that Mattias’ provocative ideas regarding mass formation, totalitarianism, and human freedom will prove contagious here in our Vermont shire.”
Quick back story.
Vermont is often touted as the most COVIDtopian of states, with high rates of “vaccination,” and communitarian compliance with now-discredited and decidedly unscientific Center For Disease Control (CDC) top-down medical directives. To challenge these COVIDtopian policies, Vermont citizens championing informed consent, health choice, and medical freedom have created a grassroots statewide network – Vermont Stands Up (VSU) – to build communities of resistance to Big Pharma-funded medical mandates – masks, “tests,” and “vaccines” – here in the Green Mountains.
After an intimate dinner at Winooski’s Waterworks restaurant and quiet morning in Burlington to relax and rejuvenate, Mattias and Susan met several VSU members and the general public for lunch at Zero Gravity craft brewery, where we had a lively conversation over salads, wings, and beer.
After lunch, we traveled to Saint Michael’s College, where Mattias delivered two intimate back-to-back lectures to first-year and junior seminar students in the college’s beautiful outdoor garden space. “Our Junior Seminar will be reading Mattias’ new book for a course entitled ’Project Censored: Fake News and Real Journalism in the Digital Age,’” explained Williams, “so having Mattias deliver an opening day lecture for our students proved a powerful way to kick off our course.” “First-year students brand-new to college seemed excited by Mattias’ remarks,” observed FTA’s Sweetin. “Thanks to Saint Michael’s College for hosting us.”
And - big finale! After visiting the historic Vermont Statehouse, we ended our Vermont tour day with a downtown Montpelier Sarducci’s dinner bringing together Mattias and his Chelsea Green team - publisher Margo Baldwin and book editor Brianne Goodspeed - for the first time.
Special thanks to Chelsea Green (chelseagreen.com) and the VSU leadership (https://www.vermontstandsup.org) – you know who you are! – for supporting our visit to Vermont and making us feel so welcome.
Courage, Team Human!
Breathe, be curious, and travel to freedom by challenging mass formation and the psychology of totalitarianism.
So good that Mattias and his wife have a warm welcome in USA and that he get the change to spread his view on totalitarianism. From the Netherlands I am following him, impressed by his knowledge and integrity.
